'The Other Side’ by Christopher Moore
Emmett, a lovesick, deeply unhappy young man, prepares to take his own life. Meanwhile, another young man, Nick, sits writing about his feelings of unrequited love in a diary, whilst professing his feelings to an unseen presence behind him- and when this mysterious object of his affections fails to answer, he decides to end his own life, too. Finding themselves in a strange netherworld following their fateful decision, both boys discover surprising truths about themselves and each other- learning that there's always more than one side to a story.
